Free Screen Recorder

Record your screen, a window, or a browser tab right here. No software to install, no signup, no watermark — your video never leaves your device.

Quick answer: Click record, pick your full screen, a window, or a browser tab, then stop to download the video as a WebM file. For example, a 5-minute 720p tutorial recording is roughly 30–50 MB. Our free screen recorder works entirely in your browser with no downloads, no watermark, and no time limits on most devices.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I record audio with my screen?

Yes. You can record system audio when capturing a browser tab, and add microphone narration for voiceovers — or use both together for tutorials. Note that some browsers limit system-audio capture to tabs only, not full-screen recording. Grant the microphone permission when prompted and do a 5-second test first.

Can I record my webcam at the same time?

Our recorder focuses on screen capture, but you can open your webcam in a small browser window and include that window in the recording area. Many tutorial creators do exactly this for picture-in-picture reactions. For dedicated webcam overlays, a desktop app gives more control.

Is there a time limit on recordings?

There is no built-in time limit — recording continues until you stop it or run out of memory. In practice, very long recordings (over an hour at 1080p) can produce large files that strain browser memory. For long sessions, record in 20–30 minute segments to stay safe.

Which browsers support screen recording?

Chrome, Edge, and other Chromium browsers offer full support including system audio. Firefox supports screen recording with some audio limitations, and Safari added support in recent versions. For the most reliable experience with audio, use Chrome or Edge on desktop.

Where is my recording saved?

Your recording is generated locally and downloaded straight to your device as a WebM file — nothing is uploaded anywhere. Check your browser's download folder. WebM plays in Chrome, Edge, and Firefox; for PowerPoint or older players, convert it to MP4 afterwards.

Can I record a Zoom or Teams meeting?

Technically yes — select the meeting window when prompted. However, always inform participants and get consent before recording any call, as secret recording may breach privacy laws or workplace policies. Many meeting apps also have built-in recording that notifies everyone automatically.
