Free Percentage Calculator Online

Three calculators in one: find X% of a number, discover what percentage one number is of another, and compute percentage increase or decrease. Results update live as you type.

Quick answer: A percentage is (part ÷ whole) × 100. For example, 45 ÷ 150 × 100 = 30%. Our free calculator also handles percentage increase and decrease — a Rs 2,000 shirt marked 15% off costs Rs 1,700, saving you Rs 300. It even does reverse percentages, like finding the original price from a sale price.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I find X percent of a number?

Multiply the number by the percentage and divide by 100. For example, 20% of 250 = (20 × 250) ÷ 100 = 50. Our calculator does this instantly — just enter the percent and the number. This is the most common percentage calculation, used for discounts, taxes, and commissions.

How do I calculate percentage increase?

Subtract the old value from the new value, divide by the old value, and multiply by 100. For example, a salary rising from Rs 50,000 to Rs 57,500 is (7,500 ÷ 50,000) × 100 = 15% increase. Our tool has a dedicated mode for this, so you just enter the two numbers.

How do I calculate percentage decrease?

Use the same formula as increase: (old − new) ÷ old × 100. For example, a phone dropping from Rs 80,000 to Rs 68,000 is (12,000 ÷ 80,000) × 100 = 15% off. This is exactly how shops work out 'percent off' sale labels.

What is a reverse percentage?

A reverse percentage finds the original value when you only know the result after a percent change. For example, if a Rs 1,700 sale price reflects 15% off, the original was 1,700 ÷ 0.85 = Rs 2,000. Our calculator's reverse mode solves these in one step — useful for checking whether a 'discount' is genuine.

How do I add a percentage to a number?

Multiply the number by (1 + percent ÷ 100). For example, adding 17% sales tax to Rs 1,000 gives 1,000 × 1.17 = Rs 1,170. This is how GST and service charges are added to bills across Pakistan. Enter the base amount and the percent in our calculator to get the total instantly.

What percentage is one number of another?

Divide the part by the whole and multiply by 100. For example, 45 out of 150 marks = (45 ÷ 150) × 100 = 30%. Students use this for exam scores, and businesses use it for market share or completion rates. Our calculator gives the answer with a clear breakdown.
